Ihr Zorn richtet sich vor allem gegen Politiker und Gurus, die das entsetzliche Verbrechen verharmlosen und Frauen als Bürger zweiter Klasse betrachten. Gewalt gegen Frauen ist in Indien Alltag und zwar in vielen Ausprägungen. Es fängt damit an, dass weibliche Föten systematisch aussortiert und abgetrieben werden, was zu einem erheblichen Frauenmangel geführt hat: 12 Millionen Mädchen wurden in den letzten 20 Jahren nicht geboren, weil ihre Familien lieber einen Jungen wollten.

Als sie die Abtreibung nach einer erzwungenen Ultraschalluntersuchung verweigerte, drohten die Schwiegereltern, die Töchter nach der Geburt zu ertränken. Ihr Ehemann sperrte sie ein, warf sie zweimal die Treppe hinunter, um eine Fehlgeburt zu provozieren. Eine versuchte Anzeige bei der Polizei scheiterte am Unverständnis der Beamten, die kein Problem erkennen konnten. Sie solle ihrem Mann doch einfach einen Sohn gebären.

Schließlich rettete sich Mitu zu ihren Eltern und gebar ihre Töchter. Jetzt nimmt sie wie viele Bürger der jungen gebildeten Mittelschicht den Kampf auf gegen die tödlichen und diskriminierenden Traditionen.

The woman doctor Mitu Khurana is the first Indian woman who sued her own husband for attempted murder of his unborn female twins. When she refused to the abortion after a forced ultrasound examination, were threatening the parents who to drown daughters after birth. Her husband locked them, threw them down the stairs twice to provoke a miscarriage. An attempted complaint with the police failed because of the lack of understanding of the officials could see no problem. Her husband however She must simply have a son.

Finally her parents rescued Mitu and gave birth to her daughters. Now she takes like many citizens of the young educated middle class in the fight against the deadly and discriminatory traditions.

My dream- A big shelter house for women who want to give birth to their daughters and raise them up with dignity and self respect , but have to fight their own families to do so.
